Hi there! Like so many, I absolutely love SusieCakes. 

While I’m from Dallas, I first discovered SusieCakes with my sister at the Shutters Hotel in Santa Monica (I believe around 2012). After dinner at the restaurant, we shared a slice of red velvet cake and it was so good that we immediately ordered three more pieces to take on the plane the next day so our family in Dallas could try it. I’ll never forget going through LAX security when TSA asked us to turn our tote on its side, and we insisted we couldn’t because there was red velvet cake inside. 

In 2013, I moved to San Francisco and was thrilled to have a SusieCakes nearby. My roommates were incredibly thoughtful and surprised me with my favorite red velvet cake for my first birthday there. Anytime family came to visit, I would surprise them with multiple slices so they could experience all the flavors. 

By 2016, I realized how much I missed my family and decided to move back to Dallas. Not long after, my mom told me SusieCakes was opening a location less than a mile from the home I grew up in. I didn’t believe her at first, it felt too coincidental that SusieCakes would open its first location outside of California just as I was leaving California, but she was right. The Preston Center location opened, and it felt like the perfect sign that I had made the right decision to move back to Texas.  

Since then, SusieCakes has been part of so many of our family celebrations, even including Fourth of July gatherings and my rescue dog Uzi’s birthday. Most recently, just this week, my siblings and I surprised our parents with a SusieCakes for their 50th wedding anniversary.  
Thank you for being part of so many special moments in our lives, and for being such a wonderful presence in the Dallas community. I’ve heard so many great things about your store, and it means a lot to support a brand that has meant so much to our family over the years.
