“My time at SusieCakes has been truly phenomenal. Not only am I loving what I do all the time, the environment has been so welcoming and comfortable since the first day I arrived. Starting somewhere new can be so intimidating, but when I walked in and people were singing along to music and welcoming me with a cupcake, I knew that I was meant to be here. My managers made asking questions so easy and I was never afraid to ask for help, and I can see my progression from when I started. I have learned useful skills and can easily come in feeling confident in my abilities and know that even if I mess up it can be fixed. Everything at SusieCakes has been so genuine, and it isn't a feeling you can easily find other places which has made everything that much better. The daily tasks were taught to me so thoroughly and I feel confident going on knowing that I can use the skills I learned here in the future. I couldn't have asked for a better experience on my internship!”

My experience with SusieCakes has been incredibly rewarding. From day one, I was immediately welcomed into a supportive and inspiring environment. The experience was invaluable, allowing me to refine my skills, develop a deep connection with the team, and appreciate the work. Returning to SusieCakes as a full-time pastry baker has been incredibly fulfilling. I now have the opportunity to contribute to our bakery's daily production using the skills I honed during my internship. What stood out most was the genuine passion and commitment of everyone at SusieCakes to not only uphold high standards but to encouraging growth in each team member. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be part of the SusieCakes team, where my passion for baking has grown into a meaningful career. This experience has not only shaped my professional growth but has also improved my life in ways I never imagined.

After my first day as an intern at SusieCakes, I knew I had made the right decision. Everyone on the team was so incredibly welcoming, from always answering my questions with thoughtful explanations to offering me their tips and tricks from learned experience. Any and all worries I had about not fitting in, or not knowing enough, faded away almost immediately after the warm welcome I received for my first day on the job. My skills in the kitchen grew exponentially, as did the joy I felt when I looked back on my decorating skills at the end of my time with SusieCakes. It was truly a great internship experience, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have been able to return the summer after my internship as a pastry baker with the same wonderful team as before!

From the moment I stepped foot it SusieCakes I felt welcomed and supported by every team member. The organization and flow of each day was impressive. I was taught how to frost, build, decorate, and bake from start to finish. During this time, I found it extremely helpful to have the labeled recipe, bake, and buttercream binders with everything written out with perfect detail. I was encouraged to try things I had never done before and assured that if a mistake was made there is always a solution. This sort of mindset was refreshing and made it so I could really learn the specifics of each task I did. It was really nice to win TMOQ as well, getting recognized for my efforts at work made me feel valued and motivated to keep doing a good job.

My summer as a Culinary Intern at SusieCakes has been an incredible experience. From day one, I was welcomed into an environment that felt more like a family than a workplace. The team’s warmth and enthusiasm made it easy to jump right into the fast-paced environment of a bakery, and I quickly felt at home. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to experience every aspect of the production process for each of SusieCakes' baked goods. My days, which typically ran from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, were filled with baking, building, and decorating cakes. The comprehensive hands-on experience allowed me to develop skills I never imagined I could acquire in such a short period. I quickly came to appreciate the vital importance of efficiency, precision, and attention to detail—elements that are essential to maintaining the high standards of quality for which SusieCakes is celebrated. What truly sets SusieCakes apart is the authenticity and warmth that permeates the team and company as a whole. It’s not just about the baking; it’s about being part of a community that cares deeply about what they do and how they do it. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I’m leaving this internship with not only new skills but also memories and friendships.
