Just tried this for the first time! Oh my goodness… sooo good! I savored every bite! I leave in a couple of days to go home to SC., and am debating getting another piece to take back!

Scratched my itch for Southern-style coconut cake like I had in South Carolina at Benne’s and much less expensive than flying there?? My husband’s been listening to me whine about coconut cake for weeks and surprised me with this beauty for my birthday. Rich, opulent, sweet, quality ingredients, moist, a perfect hint of pineapple that doesn’t overpower the coconuty main event. Had a toasted coconut cupcake at another local bakery and it was weak in comparison to this. My search for coconut cake perfection locally is over❤️??

My mom LOVES coconut cake and this one did not disappoint. I got one for her last year and she raved about it all up until her next birthday. I'm pretty sure I will be annually purchasing this cake, as it really is one of the best I've had as well. Beautiful presentation, delicious icing, moist & fluffy cake. ❤️

This cake could have been amazing but had about 3x as much sweetness as I find tolerable. I knew when my sugar obsessed child even said the frosting was too sweet that it must be pretty extreme because she has never uttered the words too and sweet in the same sentence. I’d love this cake if I could specify 30% sweetness option. The bummer is that if you just scrape off the frosting like I often do, you are also scraping off the coconut…so it defeats the purpose of the coconut. If susiecakes decides to provide sweetness level choices, I’m in!
